Poetry Out Loud 2016
Vinemont students will compete in a poetry recitation competition in their English classes. The winners of the classroom competitions will compete in a school-wide competition on October 23, 2016, and the school winner will go on to represent us at the regional competition November 18, 2016. Winners of the regional competition will compete at the state competition in Montgomery in February.
State Anthology winners receive $200 and an all-expenses paid trip with an adult chaperone to Washington, D.C. this summer, where he/she will compete at the White House! The first runner-up receives $100. A total of $50,000 in awards and scholarships is awarded annually at the National Finals in Washington, D.C.

Vinemont At State
Vinemont has had students qualify to compete at the state-level four times in the six years that we have been participating in the competition. We almost always have a student who is at least places in the top five at the regional competition in either the Anthology or Original competition.
